What does drinking water really does for your skin. How good is drinking 2 liters of water right now for your skin? Some studies say that you really get a nicer skin and less wrinkles from drinking water, other researchers say that's just a fable. Cosmo's Lotte wanted to know what water really did for your skin and did the experiment.
Let's have a look at my skin for a moment. I think a problem skin is the right description. Not that he is very fat or dry, but the last time I had an even skin, I cannot remember anymore. Every day, I keep a thorough cleaning in the morning and in the evening and twice a week I treat my face with a scrub and a mask. During this experiment, I keep this regime in order to keep the conditions as normal as possible. Drinking lemon water in the morning is good for you. On this make-up-free 'before' selfie you can see that I'm suffering from impurities:
Water, an essential nutrient. Whether I drink 2 liters of water every day? I honestly thought so, but when I really kept it up, I quickly realized that it was not. 2 liters of water is quite a lot. 8 large glasses, I chose 4 half-liter bottles. I could easily take that as well, so I knew I was drinking enough. It sounds so simple, but sometimes I had to drink to get it. Especially on beautiful summer evenings where you prefer wine. But everything went, it became easier. And, most importantly, after a while I saw a difference when I started.
The first days ... Always when I start somewhere I think I invented the miracle and I'm excited to the mirror in the morning to see if I see anything. The first days of course always come true, but around day 3 and 4 I start to notice that there are no new bumps. Normally I could count on 1 penny a day - 2 days. If that's the outcome, I'm honestly already happy. Drink plenty of water! Give the body what it needs: Water
Day 5 and 6 ... These days I made a first real discovery. I was very happy with my skin so far. On day 5, I drank 2 cups of coffee with my parents (I never drink coffee, only with my parents, no idea why or) and the next morning (day 6) I woke up with a severely irritated piece of skin at my nose. Would I be sensitive to coffee or is this coincidence? I'm going to watch it.
Day 7 to 16 ... It was hot weather (oh, summer come back!) So drinking a lot of water was not that hard. Easy even. Except on a beautiful summer Saturday night, I had to order glass of water at my wine because I did not go for another. But, everything for the experiment.
And what did I notice about my skin? Honestly, it's fair: more than I expected. During this whole period, I did not really get any new bumps (except after the coffee incident so) and the impurities I had when I started disappearing slowly. And honey, my skin is shining a bit too?
It's not like all my bumps that were already falling out of the snow before the sun, but seriously: my forehead has not been so flawless for years. My skin feels softer and - although it's not really seen on the photos - it seems to shine more. In advance, I only expected the traps to disappear under my eyes, but that has not happened again.
Am I going through that? With full conviction: yes! For this experiment, I forgot to drink and I took the one and a half liter. And these 16 days have yielded more results than I ever expected.
And what did I notice further? Aside from the fact that I had to go to the toilet much more often than before, I am trying to minimize my coffee as much as possible (own experiment) and I lost almost a kilo - while my favorite chocolate was in the house.
