Many of us have known someone to ask, at one time or another, "why is water good for you?" It is a reasonable question. We grow up being told to drink at least eight glasses of water every day and that if there was no water there would be no life. One of the first questions we are asked when we aren't feeling well is "are you drinking enough water?" Water being good for us is pretty much taken for granted. Here is a list of water nutrition facts that will help to explain just why is water good for you.

7. Drinking water, particularly cold water, can help you lose weight-even if you do not change any other part of your daily routine. Water has no caloric value, but in order to be processed, it must be warmed up to body temperature. So essentially drinking cold water helps you burn calories. You can lose up to five pounds each year just by drinking cold water instead of other beverages.

8. Water can help control your appetite, giving you a feeling of fullness, which helps to keep you from over eating.
