Drinking water is vital for humans. Drink plenty of water! Give the body what it needs: Water. Drinking keeps the body fit, hydrates the skin and facilitates the intestinal transit. But how much water do we have to drink daily? Should pregnant women drink more water than other people? A word of explanation. To stay healthy, adults are advised to drink 8 glasses of 200 ml of water daily, or 1.5 liters a day daily. Whether drinking water or bottled water, regular hydration is vital. Without water, a human being lives for only 5 days. The need for water is even greater when the sun shines brightly, every time you make an effort or do sport or when you are fainted with your fever.
Water, an essential nutrient. Water is indispensable to hydrate the body. Did you know that the human body consists of water for 60%? For babies, that's even 70%. Water is the main component of the body of an adult. However, every day we lose about two liters of water through sweat, urine or respiration. By drinking regularly we compensate for the water that our body loses daily and keep the moisture balance up to date. Dehydration can be extremely dangerous: it leads to a coma and then death.
There are different types of water. Mineral water, spring water, filtered water and, of course, tap water. It is important to choose the right water. Natural mineral water is the most controlled. It does not undergo any treatment, is checked daily and must meet the microbiological quality criteria. These criteria are 2.5 times as stringent as those for tap water. Bottled water contains less minerals than tap water.
For pregnant women, it is even more important to stay adequately hydrated. The water consumed by the future mother has a direct impact on the good development of the fetus and the volume of the water. The amount of water to be taken daily is even higher in women who are breastfeeding: they must drink at least 2.1 liters of water a day.
